Dangerous Goods Information

It’s necessary to have a Dangerous Goods Note for the transportation of perfumery products as they are considered hazardous. Luxscents UK Ltd offers this service for free.

A Dangerous Good is any material, whether solid, liquid, or gas, that can cause harm to individuals, other living beings, property, or the environment. These hazardous materials are categorized by the United Nations (UN).

The UN classifies and identifies hazardous goods that are considered hazardous by any means of transportation and regulates their packing, labeling, and shipping accordingly.

Luxscents UK Ltd only ships hazardous freight via road and sea and is therefore subject to the regulations outlined in the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR agreement) and the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code). Perfume is classified as a hazardous substance under Hazard Class 3 (Flammable Liquid) with UN number UN1266 and is subject to the regulations outlined in the ADR and IMDG codes.

For more in-depth information on ADR and IMDG, please visit the Health and Safety Executive website at www.hse.gov.uk/cdg/manual/regenvirnment.htm#IMDG.
